Congratulations to Scott Shoates, You are the BEST !!!
A gathering among the best Table Tennis player was held to decide who is the best of the best, on a merciless competition, taking no prisoners showing no fear between them.
It all started with 12 players, but they know that second place is just for losers. So the challenge begins on the 30th day of August, year 2004. There were players from almost every CapGemini Energy department and the tension starts to rise like the mercury in the thin glass tube on a hot summer day in Texas. One of the our famous reporters, Jesus Gutierrez from the sports section describes this event as follows: "After a long wait of 2 weeks and a holiday weekend it has come to an end. Today September 10, 2004 the United Way Ping-Pong Championship has been decided based on the incredible game to the DEATH between the South Bracket Champion Steven Morales and the North Bracket Champion Scott Shoates. The match was held in the COF Stadium located in the second floor break room in the city of Irving, Texas in Las Colinas. With all the hype and anticipation of this great colossal match the results are in. In an incredible display of skills and agility to the end the winner was, Scott Shoates to no disrespect to the opponent and second place Steve Morales that lost this match 2-0, but he did not loose the respect that we have towards him due to an incredible performance on those 2 matches. We do want to thank all the participants for this United Way Ping-Pong Tournament and for their participation to pave the way for the Championship."
Second place winner, Steven Morales did a great performance and a demonstration of the best his skills but unfortunately for Steve, Scott took control of the game dominating both sets. I can hear him saying "Next year it will be a different story". Keep it up, Steve, you got game !!!
The inscription fees for this tournament were donated to the United Way campaign. A total amount of $60.00 dollars from the Ping Pong Tournament were collected helping to reach and surpass last year contribution goal. We thank every player on this tournament for their patronage and playing in good spirits, making this event a success !!!
